What's “goodreads”?
Goodreads is a kind of social network for readers. Here you can explore the incredible world of literature, organize your readings and see what your friends read.
Are you undecided if you should read, or want to buy, a particular book? You can search on “goodreads”, read the summary made by the app itself and also the (usually thousands) comments available from other readers!
Overall, it's a very complete app and it is, without a doubt, the most used in the field of reading!

Why the re-design?
Although this app is super complete and efficient, it lacks a lot of organization and aesthetics. As a frequent user, I find it very difficult to perform some actions and, I confess, I don't always feel like using it because, aesthetically, it's not the “cleanest” app, which can cause confusion.
I want to do its “re-design”, first to train some Design skills, and also to prove that there can be better solutions and that it is always possible to improve in any situation.
Let's do it!
Why the re-design?
“This app have to much information. Too much text and categories can be confusing!”
“The app has no solutions for creatives. I would love to be able to share my work and get feedback!”

“It's not easy to get to a role. Whenever I want to put a book on my "shelf" I always go through the application.”
“This application is not aesthetically appealing at all. I don't feel like using it!”
Meet Luisa!
Based on our research and insights from our interviews, we created our persona: Luisa!

Wireframes
Lo-fi

Hi-fi
In these high fidelity wireframes we can already perceive, after some retouching, the final structure of our design.
After all the analysis and research, these drawings emerge as a solution to the needs of our users. There has been an attempt at a more clean and organized design and there is also the emergence of a new category for creatives - where they can exhibit their work and receive feedback (if they wish).

User Flow
With the screens almost defined, it was time to start creating the possible paths for our user to do in "goodreads"! A very simple path that leaves no doubt for the user.

The new goodreads Screens
Onboarding

The three Onboarding screens explain to the user the main objectives and actions of the app.
In a very simple way and very short texts so that the information passes quickly and efficiently.

The user has two options to register in our app: Either register through their social networks or through their email. In this case, Luísa chose to register with her email.
Questionnaire

Our questionnaire is a way of approaching our users. Through the answers given, the app can provide personalized solutions to each user!
The Books

This is our homepage and (individual) book pages. Here there are some lists, created just for the user, based on the answers given in the questionnaire, presented above.
On the pages of books there are comments and ratings that can help the user in their decision to read or buy in the future.
Personal space

Finally, we have some screens of the user's "personal space". Space where users can share their work and their readings (whether desired or already done).
